Rod Miller
Rod has been a Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) professional since 1999, specializing in large corporate projects such as enterprise-wide PLM and ERP implementations. Today he combines his technical expertise with his organizational health training via Table Group methodologies. He is an expert in the cultural change required for large corporate project success. He has had the good fortune of experiencing business from many different perspectives over the course of 40 years in the workplace.
From Journeyman Tool and Die Maker in small shops, to Mechanical Designer, to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Implementer at multi-billion dollar companies, he’s witnessed that while technology has changed, business problems have remained largely the same. Technological solutions were not transformational in the ways hoped.
As a Digital Thread implementation lead, he garnered a reputation as an industry thought leader, an architect of interconnected enterprise-wide systems, and a builder of business solutions at the intersection of technology, processes, and people.
Over these 40-plus years, he’s observed that the root cause of most organizations’ difficulties lies in its culture, rather than in available technology. Even though technology solutions such as the digital thread and digital twins are critical to success, they often mask the underlying issues.
He brings together Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles and healthy culture practices (based on models developed and promoted by Patrick Lencioni) to help companies create a lasting competitive advantage.
A graduate of Indiana Institute of Technology, with certificates in Organizational Leadership from Northwestern University and Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, he was previously on the board of Aerospace & Defense advisors to a major PLM software manufacturer.
